Download System doesn't ever finish upload

Hello, I recently started using the download system, but every time I try to upload something (add a download) it just says Sending request.... at the bottom and never finishes uploading successfully. I tried setting the chmod to the adk-downloads folder to 777 but that didnt seem to work either. It basically hangs forever.

Any tips on how I can get this to work?

EDIT: After a really long time it gives me "Your session timed out while posting. Please go back and try again."

EDIT EDIT: It seems it only has the problem with bigger files, even though I set the file size higher. Is there any way I can manually upload it via ftp and add it to the database?
